    The Inspiring Futures research conference was held at the Institute of Criminology on September 29th 2023. It was well-attended by professionals, academics and policy advisors with an interest in the arts in criminal justice settings.

    Sarah Doxat-Pratt was able to attend the annual NCJAA Anne Peaker lecture, an annual event named in honour of Anne Peaker, a pioneer of arts for, and by, people in the criminal justice system.

    The first public performance of The Pinnacle, Irene Taylor Trust's new Sounding Out cohort. Sounding Out is ITT's programme for ex-prisoners; the group formed a month ago and have written and rehearsed a number of songs together.

 

Inspiring Futures is a 3-year research project investigating the impact and meaning of arts projects in the criminal justice system. It is an independent research project, embedded into the Inspiring Futures programme run by the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance, investigating the work of a number of arts partner organisations. It is funded by the ESRC.
